BEVA's purpose in providing CPD is not to make money but as a service to their members and other veterinarians who wish to improve their equine clinical skills. The topics for the courses are selected not because they think they will be profitable but because they think they are worthwhile; for example dentistry for new graduates; topical, for example emergency medicine; or are an essential requirement for running your practice, for example training for radiation protection supervisors. The key difference, however, is that BEVA CPD is practical. Their courses feature extensive opportunities for case-based discussion, image interpretation and clinical pathology evaluation. Unlike their competitors their courses provide hands-on, practical, skill-based training with cadaver material and live horses. Where else can you go and learn to ultrasound the horse's limb, perform advanced dentistry, improve your auscultation skills or learn how to perform echocardiography?

Many of BEVA's courses are supported by BCF who supply a wide range of materials and diagnostic equipment for you to use on the course providing a valuable opportunity to try equipment before deciding whether to purchase. Provided by BEVA members for BEVA members, our CPD programme is co-ordinated by the CPD Committee and administered by the BEVA office staff. BEVA's programme for 2007 provides the best and most comprehensive practical equine CPD available anywhere in Europe and represents excellent value for money.
