'What have you found?' competition winner - June

'A taste for golf'

Golf ball x-ray

The winner of our June Veterinary Review competition is Julie Eastham, Nursing Manager, at the Cromwell Veterinary Group in Huntingdon. Readers sent in case studies of the most unusual object they have found in an animal, and Julie's was a clear winner:

A one-year-old Labrador, nicknamed  'Bunker', was presented to the practice after his owner spotted him devouring a golf ball. On evaluating the patient's radiograph it became evident that this canine gastronome had developed quite a taste for golf. No less than seven of the firm white balls were removed from 'Bunker'. The practice is bracing itself for rugby season!

Julie has won a Kodak EasyShare V610 digital camera. Details of this month's competition can be found in the News section of our website and the August issue of Veterinary Review.
